The Dreaded Valentine's.

Welp, we are only a day away from Valentine's Day. Dun, dun dun! I feel like this may be one of the most dreaded days of the year for people and it cracks me up. If you haven't found a special some one yet, who cares! This day is really no different than any other day of the year. I think it's specifically made for BRAND NEW relationships, because you're still in that magical, nothing is wrong about the person you're dating, space so you just ooze over each other at a fancy shmancy restaurant. Or for women stuck in relationships with complete losers who don't get treated the right way the majority of the time; so they get one, measly day a year to get treated properly.

Valentine's is more for single people. It brings out the longing for a relationship. I think, for most people in happy relationships, Valentine's day is nothing really special. I mean, I'll say Happy Valentine's Day to my fiance this Friday and make him a card, maybe rent a movie, but it's not like "OOOOH VALENTINES! LOVE IT! LETS MAKE BIG PLANS."

If you're one of those people who tends to feel down on this day; I have a few suggestions. If you feel like being with people- get together with your friends! Decorate your place with confetti, flowers, red and pink balloons, get a bunch of chick flicks and celebrate the night with the hope and faith the right one is on their way to you! It doesn't have to be a man-hating party. It can be a hope for love party! You can laugh with your girlfriends, drink some vino, and shed a few tears watching The NoteBook or Sleepless in Seattle.

If you don't want to hang with anyone, I have something really fun to do! Inspired by the beloved Charlie Brown in A Charlie Brown Valentine. Go buy yourself a nice box of chocolates. Drive to the beach; any beach with a pier will do. Any body of water with a deck, dock, or pier will do, actually. If an ocean is close though--go there! Enjoy the waves and scenery and take a nice walk on the pier with your box of chocolates. Pick a nice spot on the pier to eat your chocolates.

Now, we all know, not every kind of chocolate in that box is good. I mean, some of those flavors, it's like what the heck is this? So when you come across those flavors--throw them as hard and as far as you can into the ocean. (Fish like chocolate, so it's not littering--it's appreciated). If no one is around, a scream or two while throwing chocolate in the ocean will be very liberating- try it! Each piece you throw can either be releasing something (scars and walls from past relationships) or a throw of hope (hope for the future of your love-life). Dress up if you want to. Spend the day with yourself, the ocean, and some chocolates. It'll be hard to top in the future, because no one can treat you as good as you can treat yourself :).

Just don't fret over big, bad Valentine's Day. Some day you won't even care about this day, because you'll be treated like a queen every day from your handsome man. Enjoy the days of being alone. They are making you stronger and better for the one you're meant to fly with. Happy Love Day, ya'll.

Oh, and if you haven't seen A Charlie Brown Valentine- do that too!
