All the important things in life, need to be fed and we forget to even pay attention to the other aspects of our life that are hungry! I love the quote, "The grass is greener where you water it," by Neil Barringham. It's so true. If some one is in a happier relationship than you, has a fit body you'd like to have, is at peace in their day to day lives and you are struggling; it isn't because their life just magically, grows greener than yours, it's because they are watering their life and feeding their hungry souls.
Our bodies are not the only things that need to be fed. If you find happiness; you need to feed it. Love; you need to feed it. Passion; you need to feed it. Peace; you need to feed it. Energy; you need to feed it. If you don't feed these things they will eventually shrivel up and die.
Love, in my humble opinion, is the second most important thing to feed besides our physical bodies. If you find love and it's everything you've ever wanted and then all of a sudden it gets really hard and starts to drift south at a rapid rate, it's because you are not feeding your relationship. You are not taking care of it. Love requires maintenance. If you never check in with your significant other about how things are going--they're not going to go anywhere. You need to feed your love with compassion for one another, quality time, sincerely asking if there is more you can do for the other person to feel your love, hang the towels on the towel rack instead of leaving them on the floor, surprise one another, hug each other when you see each other again after a long day, and just truly work on your love. Through all these efforts, your love will grow greener; it is bound to happen. You cannot do all the work and reap nothing. You will see your love shine.
Following your passion in life kind of encompasses all the other precious things we should be 'feeding.' Following your passion will, in turn, feed your love, happiness, energy, and peacefulness. If you are chasing after that dream that is deep down inside of you; you're chasing something you love, which automatically fuels your happiness, gives you a crazy amount of energy, because it doesn't feel like 'work,' and you will be at peace, because you are doing what you're supposed to be doing.
Everybody is hungry for something. Go find what you're yearning for and pursue it with everything you have. Feed your soul.
